Formerly a Victorian farmhouse, Greenscombe luxury cottage, is nestled in the heart of the Tamar Valley – a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty - and tucked away adjacent to Greenscombe Woods. The house offers the character and charm of a country retreat and all the luxuries of a quality holiday cottage.
Beautifully furnished with large comfortable sofas, luxurious beds and open fires, Greenscombe has views over the River Tamar and the valley beyond.
The traditional farmhouse kitchen is equipped with an Aga and all the mod cons you need to make life easier. As well as a farmhouse kitchen table, Greenscombe has a large dining room where eight people can eat in comfort.
The second living room with Plasma screen, satellite TV and DVD player is the place to watch a film or listen to music beside a roaring open fire. There is also a sitting room where you can relax and read a book or chat to your family and friends.
Upstairs the luxury cottage has four beautifully appointed bedrooms all have Vi-Spring beds. The house can sleep up to seven people with an extra camp bed/travel cot being available. The bathroom is modern and contemporary and the master bedroom has an en-suite, everything you would expect from a luxury holiday cottage.
Outside in this tranquil Tamar Valley location you will find a barbecue area with comfortable seating for eight as well as a large parasol and cushions. Pretty gardens surround the house and overlook the River Tamar and valley beyond. From Greenscombe House you have direct access to Greenscombe Woods. Historically, much of the ancient woodland at Greenscombe was managed as oak coppice with some areas being a market garden at the turn of the century – in fact cultivated strawberry plants can still be found.
Greenscombe Woods is one of the sites used by the Natural Environment Research Council for its Butterfly Monitoring Scheme and has a transect crossing the reserve.
